A new online directory listing providers of electric vehicle (EV) battery state of health (SoH) checks has been launched by the Vehicle Remarketing Association (VRA).
Hosted at thevra.co.uk, it contains information on all known UK-based and UK-active battery diagnostic businesses including website links, contact information, accreditations and memberships of industry body.
There is also guidance on the importance of battery health, how and why degradation happens, and what remarketing businesses should look for in identifying the right SoH partner for their needs.
Philip Nothard, VRA chair, said: “It’s clear that as used EV sales grow and there are a rising number of these vehicles on the market, SoH checks will become an ever more important part of remarketing, both for consumers and trade buyers.
“Members are asking us more and more often about providers of SoH services and this seems like the right moment to offer a directory of this kind, collecting all the information we have in one place.
“We’ve also been partially inspired to do this by our recent partnership with CARA, the car remarketing association of Europe, which operates its own SoH accreditation scheme, and we’re partially drawing on their knowledge here.”
Philip added that any SoH providers who wished to be listed should get in touch with the VRA at info@thevra.co.uk.
“The directory isn’t limited to our members, and we want to open it up as widely as possible. It’s all about promoting a unified approach to quality and transparency in what remains quite a new part of the remarketing sector.”
