Leading experts in the hydrogen car market to speak at 2018’s first VRA member meeting

Leading experts in the hydrogen car market will be speaking at 2018’s first meeting of the Vehicle Remarketing Association on 24 January.

Being held at the Swindon offices of fleet management specialist Arval, the meeting will take a look at developments in hydrogen technology, availability of cars and likely sales. The town is the centre of the UK’s largest hydrogen trial for vehicles, business and homes.

Key speakers include Clare Jackson of Ecuity Consulting on the Swindon Hydrogen Hub, Paul Marchment of Arval on the company’s hydrogen fleet car trial and John Hunt of Toyota on motor manufacturer progress in developing hydrogen cars.

Jayson Whittington of Glass’s will also be providing a general update on the overall new and used car sector, the impact of alternative fuel vehicles on the industry, and will lead market discussion from a defleet, remarketing and retail perspective.

Glenn Sturley, chair at the VRA, said: “There is a lot of curiosity in the remarketing sector about hydrogen vehicles. They certainly do appear to promise a highly attractive alternative to the fuel types currently available in the medium-longer term.

“This meeting promises to provide a fascinating briefing on the latest developments in the sector and is even being held in Swindon, which is rapidly becoming the UK’s home of hydrogen power. We believe it will be a very useful and informative session.

“We’ll also be looking in detail at the latest developments in the UK remarketing sector. 2018 is set to be a very eventful year and we expect to fulfil an even more important than usual role for our members in helping to keep them as well informed as possible.”
