2024 – The Year Ahead in Automotive Remarketing
On Tuesday 21 November 2023, The Vehicle Remarketing Association (VRA) will hold its Annual Seminar.
Taking place at The Slate, Warwick University, and with the theme of “2024: The Year Ahead in Automotive and Remarketing,” it will look at current and new issues affecting the sector over three sessions.
- The macroeconomic picture and motor industry market analysis
- Current challenges facing the remarketing and auto retail sector
- Future trends and new thinking
Philip Nothard, chair at the VRA, said: “Our Seminar is one of the high points of the motor industry calendar, attracting close to 200 delegates, and we are very pleased to be able to hold the event for the second time since the start of the pandemic.
“The speakers are of a very high quality and we are sure will provide a high level of insight into what 2024 holds for the remarketing sector. Speakers announced to date include:
- Graeme Chaplin, the Bank of England’s agent for the West Midlands, presenting on the UK’s economic outlook for next year
- Abdul Chowdhury, head of vehicle policy at OZEV, will be looking at the latest developments in the EV regulatory framework
- John O’Hanlon, CEO of Waylands Group, will be examining how dealers are fighting to maintain margins, maximise profits and deal with new manufacturer approaches to dealership relationships
- Louis Piper, professor of battery innovation at the Faraday Institute, will be presenting on his organisation’s latest research into EV battery degradation.
- Brian Steinhauser, CEO at PAVE and Shane Ennis, co-founder and chief product officer at Sweep, will jointly look at the potential role of artificial intelligence in used vehicle appraisal.
- Steve Bridge, managing director at eStar, will examine the emerging picture for used electric vans
- Graeme Potts, CEO, at Eden Motor Group, will speak on the future for franchised dealers
- Matt Freeman, consulting specialist at cap hpi, will present his organisation’s latest research on EV volumes entering the used market
- Nick Chadaway managing director at DMN Logistics, will explain the importance of delivering EVs fully charged.”
