First VRA “Five Minute Briefing” looks at dealer showroom reopening

Dealer showroom reopenings during April are the subject of the first in what is expected to be a regular series of commentary documents from the Vehicle Remarketing Association.

Called a “Five Minute Briefing”, it asks experts from the industry body’s board to summarise in 100 words what they believe will be the impact of this important retail change within their specialist area of remarketing.

The first features Jonathan Butler, partner and head of automotive at Geldard’s; remarketing consultant Cliff Deller; Duncan Josey, digital marketing director, AutoTrader UK; Rupert Pontin, director of insight, Cazana; Sam Watkins, commercial director, Manheim Vehicle Services; Jayson Whittington, chief editor, Glass’s; and Gary Xuereb, commercial director, DMN Logistics

Philip Nothard, chair at the VRA, whose views are also included in the document, said: “Our organisation encompasses many different areas of the remarketing sector – from vehicle logistics to vehicle services, from trade values to online marketing – and the ‘Five Minute Briefing’ allows us to draw on the expertise within the organisation to provide a short but highly informative overview.

“The prospect of showrooms reopening is potentially one of the most important developments of the year for the used vehicle world and the new document delivers essential commentary for those working within the sector.

“In the future, we plan to apply the same format to a range of other subjects facing the remarketing industry as they arise. It’s very much a question of ‘watch this space.’”
