Speaker line-up announced for VRA’s Annual General Meeting

The speaker line-up has been announced for next month’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Vehicle Remarketing Association (VRA)

An update on the current situation facing motor manufacturers will be provided by Dale Wyatt, director of automobile at Suzuki GB, while Peter Smyth, director at Swansway Motor Group, will similarly look at the present landscape from a dealer perspective.

A panel discussion on mental health and wellbeing in the remarketing sector will follow featuring Rachel Clift, health and wellbeing director at motor industry benevolent charity BEN; Stephen Whitton, founder of [M]enable, which is the VRA’s mental health partner organisation; and William Bentley, development officer at Compass, which provides wellbeing consultancy and training solutions.

The AGM takes place at 10.00 am on Thursday 13th July at British Car Auctions in Birmingham. The initial session will cover official business and be open to members only but, from 10.30 am, the speaker presentation section will be accessible to anyone who would like to attend or take part online.

Philip Nothard, chair at the VRA, said: “As ever, we’ll be working to make the AGM as potentially interactive as possible, giving members a chance to make their voices heard about the direction of the organisation in person. This is, after all, their industry body, and their input is crucial to the VRA’s future success.

“As well as the procedural matters that need to be addressed, we always look to invite high-profile ‘event’ speakers to take part and Dale and Peter, alongside our mental health panel, will undoubtedly have some very interesting things to say.

“The AGM is also an excellent opportunity for people from across the automotive sector who may be interested in joining the VRA to find out more about the organisation, and we urge anyone in that position to register and attend.”
