WLTP and diesel “demonisation” on the agenda at 2018 VRA Annual General Meeting

Expert advice on dealing with the impact of WLTP and diesel “demonisation” will be at the top of a list of motor industry hot topics being discussed at the 2018 Annual General Meeting of the Vehicle Remarketing Association.

To be held on June 6 at BCA, Perry Barr, Birmingham, the day will centre on the organisation’s AGM, featuring the directors’ report, financial matters and elections.

It will then be followed by presentations from Beth Davies of CAP-HPI with a high-level overview of WLTP, Paul Smith of RLA Group on “What’s Fuelling Buyers Car Purchasing Decisions”, Jayson Whittington of Glass’s with a current overview of the new and used car sectors and Glyn Fisher of BEN talking about the support services that the charity provides.

Glenn Sturley, VRA chair, said: “The AGM is an important part of VRA business but we have also worked to make the day as interesting as possible for our members.

“The presentations that are being given will provide an excellent oversight of some of the most pressing matters of the moment in the remarketing sector, including how WLTP is likely to impact on the car market, and trends affecting both the new and used sectors as the poor perception of diesel continues.”

Glenn added that the VRA had formulated extensive plans for the second half of 2018 including a major recruitment drive, a new website and a comprehensive one-day seminar.

“We believe that the kind of information and support that the VRA provides is relevant to an ever-growing number of companies and organisations – from dealers to auctions, from leasing companies to digital remarketers – and are looking to extend our membership.

“Certainly, once an organisation becomes a VRA member, very few leave, which illustrates the value that we provide.”
